Puppet Uprising's first plunge into the Fringe Festival happened at the now-defunct Mum Puppettheatre in Olde City. Members of "Puppet Government" (Puppet Uprising's organizational collective) presented three full-stage shows on one bill on the eve of major shifts in our nation's pilitical focus.
Beth Pulcinella brought the street to the stage with her latest shadow puppet installment of "Legends Walk The Streets" in which her heroic mailbox throws down with a flashing road sign. Puppet Uprising co-founder Duncan Busser presented his sebut as Illegitimate Theater—a reenactment of the Brothers Grimm version of "Cinderella," enacted by an entouage of mannequins. Twitchy Puppets (Dan Gasewski and Suzanne Francis) also performed one of their rarely seen puppet epics.
