Puppet Uprising's first foray into the unexplored wilds of Frankford Ave in Philadelphia's Fishtown neighborhood was an encore presentation of The Most Mysterious Day of the Year, the second original full-length play by the Missoula Oblongata. The event was held at the Fishtown branch of Circle of Hope, a friendly neighborhood thrift store/community space right next to Germ Books and the Rocket Cat Café.

About the Most Mysterious Day of the Year

Local filmmaker Ted Passon opened the evening with a documentary-in-progress about the infamous SPACE 1026, a gallery and artists collective located on Arch Street in Chinatown.. Then the Missoula Oblongata performed their newly reworked version of THE MOST MYSTERIOUS DAY OF THE YEAR, in which a kaleidoscope-obsessed sleauth allows a lovesick bird to perish under the philosphical claws of the cat owned by the axe-wielding rival detective 20 paces across the way. A dramatic lamppost, one raccoony niece, and the most comfortable bed in the world were the other players in this play about the rise of community boxing and the fall of Morse Code.
